The Anti-Russian Lying Machine in Action

October 3rd, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

It never rests, now in high gear following Russia’s announced aerial campaign against ISIS in Syria, beginning on September 30.

For the first time since WW II, Russian and US warplanes are bombing the same country - each for entirely different reasons.

Moscow’s campaign aims to defeat ISIS, eliminate its scourge. Washington actively supports it, striking Syrian targets exclusively, duplicitously claiming otherwise.

The US State and Defense Departments’ lying machine sprung into action, criticizing Moscow irresponsibly instead of praising its efforts, vital against terrorists ravaging Syria.

US and Russia: Geopolitical Opposites

October 2nd, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

Geopolitical differences between both countries are stark - and irreconcilable because Washington wants it this way, a bipartisan consensus, lunatics in both parties more overtly anti-Russian than their less extremist counterparts.

Regime change is longstanding US policy for almost a century - since the Bolsheviks ousted the Romanovs.

Truman era diplomat George Kennan introduced the concept of containment, calling Soviet Russia inherently expansionist. Cold War politics followed.

It continues under Obama. Putin understands, earlier saying “(w)e have every reason to assume that the infamous policy of containment, led in the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries, continues today."

Western nations are "constantly trying to sweep us into a corner because we have an independent position, because we maintain it, and because we call things like they are and do not engage in hypocrisy."

Russia’s Upper House Authorizes Aerial Operations in Syria

October 2nd, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

Following Russia’s announcement, Syrian media said it came in response to President Bashar al-Assad’s request, asking Putin’s help to fight Islamic State terrorists.

On Wednesday, Russia’s upper house Federation Council unanimously approved using air power to fight ISIS and other takfiri terrorists in Syria - responding to Putin’s request, parliamentary authorization a constitutional requirement.

Putin observes Russian and international law principles - unlike Obama and other US presidents operating ad libitum, circumventing the law, doing whatever they please at their own discretion, ruling like despots, terrorizing nations ruthlessly.

Russian Presidential Administration Chief of Staff Sergei Ivanov explained Putin’s move, saying:

Poroshenko’s UN Rant

October 2nd, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

US-anointed Ukrainian president Petro Poroshenko is a caricature of a leader - a so-called chocolate king billionaire/oligarch, illegitimately installed in a farcical election.

He’s waged naked aggression on Donbass throughout his tenure, imposed an economic blockade, insists scheduled democratic parliamentary elections be cancelled, failed in his attempt to isolate Crimea, and blames Russia and Donbass freedom fighters for his high crimes.

His General Assembly rant bashed Russia, repeating tired old baseless accusations of “aggression.”

Ludicrously saying “Ukrainian territories occupied by Russia in the Crimea and Donbas region constitute approximately 44,000 square kilometers (16,989 square miles).”

Saudi Indifference to Human Lives and Welfare

October 1st, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

Saudi Arabia is perhaps the world’s most ruthless regime, second only to America and Israel’s partnership, together a true axis of pure evil.

Riyadh persecutes its own population ruthlessly, tolerating no dissent, sentencing victims to death for the crime of truth-telling, partnering with US regional wars, supplying weapons, funding and banned chemical agents to terrorists in Iraq and Syria.

For six months, it’s been terror bombing Yemen, using banned cluster munitions and toxic agents, murdering thousands of civilians, potentially starving millions to death by blockade, preventing enough food, medical supplies and other essentials from entering.

Irresponsible Putin Bashing Following His UN Address

October 1st, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

It’s always open season on irresponsibly bashing him - instead of embracing his sensible solutions to major world problems.

Western media are relentless, marching to the drumbeat of imperial regimes they represent, partnering with America’s killing machine - polar opposite Putin’s global peace and stability agenda, respecting the sovereign rights of all nations, urging unity to achieve common objectives benefitting everyone.

Major media in America long ago lost credibility. They’re self-serving disreputable agents of wealth, power and privilege, substituting misinformation and Big Lies for hard truths, turning growing numbers of people to reliable alternative choices for news, information and analysis, impossible to get from sources like The New York Times.

Dueling Ideologies in New York: Putin v. Obama

October 1st, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

Obama addresses make painful listening. He represents ruthless US ambitions to rule the world - even at the risk of destroying it.

His remarks at all times reflect willful deception, entirely lacking truth, candor and straightforwardness. He’s a shameless demagogue, a con man, a disgrace to his people and office he holds - masquerading as a legitimate leader.

His rants lost credibility long ago. His policies speak for themselves. His agenda threatens humanity’s survival. His neocon infested administration deplores peace and stability. His claims otherwise ring hollow. His Monday General Assembly address was true to form.

Republican Race Tightens: Does it Matter?

October 1st, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

Governors Rick Perry and Scott Walker were early dropouts. Expect others before the February 1 Iowa caucus and primary season begins, New Hampshire first eight days after Iowa - heading toward March 1 super-Tuesday with 13 states up for grabs.

Does it matter? Not under money controlled one-party rule, candidates from each wing virtual cardboard cutouts of each other, in lockstep on all issues mattering most - same-old, same-old: pro-war, pro-business, anti-populist. Don’t be fooled by demagogic rhetoric. Candidate Obama promised hope and change, peace, not war, prosperity lifting all boats, affordable universal healthcare with a public option, respect for labor rights, closing Guantanamo, ending torture, real immigration reform, prosecuting Bush administration war criminals, Palestinian sovereignty free from occupation, respect for rule of law principles and much more.

Endless US War on Afghanistan

October 1st, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

America came to Afghanistan to stay. Occupation is permanent. So is endless war.

Washington’s December 2014 ceremonial end of over 13 years of war was phony, a thinly veiled PR stunt - including Obama saying “our combat mission in Afghanistan is ending, and the longest war in American history is coming to a responsible end.”

Naked aggression was planned long before 9/11 - despite bin Laden and Taliban officials having nothing to do with what happened. US state-sponsored terrorism bore full responsibility. Endless US regional wars continue. So does America’s combat mission in Afghanistan. Obama lied saying it ended.
