Israel Bombs Syria During Large-Scale War Games

August 2nd, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

Israel is a warrior state - a nation at all times mobilized for war with hundreds of thousands of reservists ready to supplement active duty forces on short notice.

On July 27, three days of large-scale drills began - “testing the (IDF’s) ability to rapidly transition from routine activities to an emergency war footing,” according to the Jerusalem Post.

Hundreds of thousands of reservists got “mock telephone messages” requesting confirmation of receipt. Thousands of others were called up or are on alert to report for duty on command if ordered.

An IDF source said “(t)his is one of the largest reservist telephone call-ups we’ve had in an exercise. We want to ensure that the system is well-oiled and working.”

Unidentified US Navy Nurse Honored for Refusing Involvement in Force-Feeding

August 2nd, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

Physicians for Human Rights (PHR) deputy communications director Vesna Jaksic Lowe announced possible Pentagon efforts to revoke the security clearance for an unnamed navy nurse - in retaliation for his refusal to participate in unethical/immoral/illegal force-feeding amounting to brutal torture.

PHR's medical director, Dr. Vincent Iacopino, called "(t)he military's latest action against the nurse…backdoor retaliation for refusing to take part in an unethical and criminal activity."

It's barbaric viciousness America practices with impunity along with countless other torture techniques inflicted on innocent uncharged/untried victims. The American Nurses Association (ANA) honored the nurse wanting to remain anonymous (identified only as a male lieutenant) with its Year of Ethics award - for putting prisoner rights ahead of barbaric practices. He wants to avoid jeopardizing his career to be able to retire in December 2016 with full benefits and privileges.

Hillary Clinton’s Scandalous Record

August 2nd, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

Kathleen Willey is a former White House volunteer. She said Bill Clinton sexually assaulted her during his first term in office - in his Oval Office private study.

She created “A Scandal a day” web site. Her book titled “Target: Caught in the Crosshairs of Bill and Hillary Clinton” became a best seller.

Willey created her web site to alert Americans about “the potential danger of Hillary Clinton becoming president.” Among an array of rogue presidential aspirants, she stands out as especially abhorrent - a menace to world peace, stability and security as well as what remains of homeland freedoms.

Perhaps scandals haunting her will derail her presidential ambitions. The Wall Street Journal revealed another one, headlining “UBS Deal Shows Clinton’s Complicated Ties.”

In return for intervening on behalf of Swiss banking giant UBS in a case involving an IRS suit seeking identities of Americans with secret accounts believed to be possible tax cheats, the Clinton Foundation got “large contributions…and a fat paycheck for Bill Clinton to participate in question-and-answer session(s) with” top bank officials - a clear conflict of interest.

LaRouche Warns of Thermonuclear 'Guns of August' Unless Obama is Dumped

August 1st, 2015

LaRouchepac

Lyndon LaRouche yesterday publicly warned that, unless President Obama is either removed from office, or stripped of any political independence, he will use the August Congressional recess as the moment of opportunity to provoke a confrontation with Russia that could lead to a general war, including a thermonuclear war of extinction.

"We're coming to a point," with the August Congressional recess, LaRouche warned,

"where Obama will be free to launch war, without any opposition. And that's extremely dangerous. ... And that war would mean probably a thermonuclear war; Russia would not launch the war, but Russia would be prepared to react to the launching of that war, immediately. And that's the situation. And this can mean the extinction of a lot of people on the planet."

Israel Denies Medications for Palestinian Prisoners

August 1st, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

Thousands of Palestinians are imprisoned for political reasons. They're lawlessly incarcerated for wanting fundamental rights mandated under international law.

Abuse in Israel's gulag is appalling. Barbarism best describes it. Cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment is standard practice - including torture and other forms of physical and psychological abuse.

Since 1967, over 800,000 Palestinians were incarcerated - about 40% of its male population, including over 8,000 children since 2000 alone. So-called crimes charged include belonging to the wrong political party, peacefully demonstrating, displaying a Palestinian flag, demanding fundamental civil and human rights, among other actions judged anti-Israeli.

Unprecedented Human Suffering in Yemen

August 1st, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

Yemen is Obama’s war - planned months before conflict began, using Saudi and other regional rogue state partners as proxies, doing America’s dirty work, wanting Yemen returned to US client state status at the expense of thousands of mostly civilian deaths so far (many more than officially reported) and unprecedented human suffering, according to the ICRC.

It issued a press release expressing alarm over intensified conflict, saying:

“The suffering of the civilian population has reached unprecedented levels. More than 100 days into the crisis, severe shortages of water, food and fuel continue across the country, together with airstrikes and fighting on the ground,” ICRC Yemen delegation head Antoine Grand explained.

Balkanizing Syria Planned

August 1st, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

Longstanding US/Israeli plans call for redrawing the Middle East map - including balkanizing Iraq and Syria along with installing regional puppets serving Western/Zionist interests.

The ugly scheme involves endless wars - killing millions through violence and deprivation. Imperialism works this way - causing unspeakable human misery for power, resource control and profit.

America, key NATO allies, Israel and rogue Arab states like Saudi Arabia are allied in potentially embroiling the entire region and beyond in endless conflicts - wanting regime change in Iran, Syria and elsewhere. Washington wants all independent governments replaced by pro-Western puppet regimes. Israel wants all its regional rivals eliminated - Iran, Hezbollah in Lebanon and Assad in Syria.

Illegitimate Show Trial Sentences Gaddafi’s Son to Death

August 1st, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

In 2007, candidate Obama said “(t)he president does not have the power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation.”

Straightaway after entering office, he expanded drone attacks against Afghanistan, Pakistan, Somalia and Yemen. He increased troop strength in Afghanistan after pledging to end war by yearend 2009. US-led NATO aggression on Libya followed. Obama lied claiming Gaddafi “attack(ed) his (own) people. (So) we took…swift steps…to answer his aggression.”

A litany of Big Lies followed. “Innocent people were targeted for killing,” Obama blustered. “Hospital and ambulances were attacked.”

Cleveland Police Attack Black Activists

August 1st, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

Blacks know Jim Crow remains virulent in America - 1960s civil rights laws did nothing to curb police brutality largely against Black and Brown people.

On Friday through Sunday, hundreds of Black Lives Matter activists from around the country met in Cleveland for the inaugural Movement for Black Lives convention.

Information about the event said it was organized “at a pivotal time for the growing movement for Black lives in the United States.”

“Black people are facing unabated police violence, increasing criminalization, a failed economic system, a broken education system and the loss of our communities to gentrification and development. Our trans and queer communities face the increased risk of physical and economic violence. The list of indignities regularly faced by the Black community is long and untenable.”

Israel Murders Palestinians with Impunity

August 1st, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

Israel considers Gaza, the West Bank and East Jerusalem free-fire zones. It’s always open season on Palestinian lives - 17 murdered so far this year by Israeli security forces, individuals threatening no one.

A weekly average of 38 others were wounded. Last year, Israel killed 46 Palestinians in the West Bank alone.

On Thursday, its forces stormed Falah Abu Maria’s Hebron home - an illegal act they conduct multiple times daily, terrorizing innocent Palestinian family members. They confronted Maria’s son Muhammad, shot him in the pelvis for no apparent reason and left his son Ahmad injured by shrapnel. Then killed Maria when he tried protecting his sons from soldiers firing indiscriminately.
