Obama's Dirty War on Yemen

April 4th, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

Candidate Obama was elected promising peace. On October 28, 2007, he said:

"I will promise you this, that if we have not gotten our troops out of Afghanistan by the time I am president, it is the first thing I will do."

"I will get our troops home. We will bring an end to this war. You can take that to the bank."

Instead he escalated. America's war on Afghanistan continues. Permanent occupation is planned.

Obama arguably is America's most belligerent president ever. He exceeds the worst of his predecessors.

Multiple direct and proxy wars continue raging nonstop throughout his tenure - against Afghanistan, parts of Pakistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria, Ukraine, Somalia, partnered with Israel against Palestine and now Yemen.

Israeli Stooge Abbas Supports Obama's War on Yemen

April 4th, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

Israel appointed Mahmoud Abbas Palestinian Authority leader to provide enforcer services - dirty work it subcontracts.

He's hugely corrupt. He amassed great stolen wealth serving Israeli interests - conspiring against his own people.

He's a Palestinian Judas, a longtime Israeli collaborator. He has no legitimacy whatever. He belongs in prison, not high office.

On Thursday, he expressed support for Saudi terror-bombing - naked aggression by any standard.

He backs US-installed ousted puppet Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi.

He ludicrously called restoring him to power important to create Yemeni security and unity.

He turned a blind eye to his despotic rule. He's mindless of US-directed Saudi terror bombing murdering scores of civilian men, women and children - maybe hundreds by now.

Hillary Clinton’s Presidential Campaign Is Now Effectively Over, Wall Street Warns Dems Not to Choose Senator Elizabeth Warren

April 3rd, 2015

Eric Zuesse

Hillary Clinton’s unannounced campaign for the U.S. Presidency has already failed. Her arrogance (or else stupidity) in having wiped clean the hard drive of the private server she had used for her emails while she was the U.S. Secretary of State adds insult to the injury already done to her incipient campaign by the earlier revelation that she had evaded the State Department’s record-keeping system and had used her private server for all of her State Department emails and not only for her personal emails. (The NYT had headlined March 2nd: “Hillary Clinton Used Personal Email at State Dept., Possibly Breaking Rules.”)

Israel Uses Lethal Force Against Palestinian Children

April 3rd, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

It's longstanding Israel practice - shooting defenseless Palestinian children in cold blood.

Defence for Children International-Palestine (DCI-P) explains what's virtually unreported in the West.

On March 23, DCI-P called on UN member states to hold Israel accountable for crimes against Palestinian children. It issued a statement to the UN Human Rights Council saying in part: "A generation of Palestinian children living under prolonged Israeli military occupation have been arrested, shot, shelled and bombed since 2000, and, during this time, Israeli forces have killed over 1,900 children."

Gallup Finds: Among Conservatives, Education Increases False Belief

April 3rd, 2015

Eric Zuesse

100% agreement among scientists does not exist on anything, not even on basic laws of physics; but there are some scientific topics where the degree of expert consensus is near 100%, and human-caused (or “anthropogenic”) global warming is one of them, with more than 97% of the scientific experts in the field agreeing that this phenomenon is real. (See this paper, which is the most-rigorous study to-date, of expert opinion on the subject, quantifying the extent of this consensus; this is a study of 11,944 papers that have been published on the matter, and it finds that more than 97% of the peer-reviewed papers that have expressed an opinion on whether “anthropogenic global warming” exists, have said that it does. A contrarian tried to debunk that paper and reduce the consensus down to 91%, which is still high, but there were errors in his paper, and he even admitted: “There is no doubt in my mind that the literature on climate change overwhelmingly supports the hypothesis.")

Washington Wants Its Big Lying Machine Revved Up

April 3rd, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

Its annual three-fourths of a billion dollars spent isn't enough. It's for managed news disinformation rubbish aired by:

● Voice of America;

● Radio Free Asia;

● Radio and TV Marti aimed at Cuba; and

● Middle East Broadcasting Networks

● Middle East Broadcasting Networks.

Plus enormous sums spent by supportive corporate media, as well as so-called public (be damned) broadcasting and radio blasting out Big Lies, fake news, and other grand deceptions instead of what everyone deserves.

Reuters previewed a new report claiming America is losing the information war to Russia - written by two former US propagandists, S. Enders Wimbush and Elizabeth Portale.

They along with 30 foreign policy/diplomacy professionals polled want America's Big Lying Machine revved up.

Britain's Foreign Secretary Matches Kerry's Bullying, Bluster and Big Lies

April 3rd, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

British Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond

America and Britain partner in each other's high crimes. Their longstanding relationship dates from the 19th century. It's modern form emerged post-WW II. Imperial interests are shared.

When America goes to war or plans one (direct or proxy), Britain marches in lockstep.

One rogue state supports another. British Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond and John Kerry specialize in bashing independent governments they want replaced with ones their regimes control.

Hammond's Foreign Office condemned Syria's right to defend itself against US recruited, armed, funded, trained and directed IS and other imported death squads ravaging the county.

It blamed Assad for their crimes. It lied claiming he uses chemical weapons, torture, starvation and "other despicable acts (as) methods of warfare."

Even America’s ‘Media Watchdogs’ Hide U.S.’s Ukrainian Nazification & Ethnic Cleansing

April 2nd, 2015

Eric Zuesse

The U.S.’news’ media are so censored and controlled, so that even America’s ‘media watchdog’ organizations — mediamatters.org and ffair.org on the left; and aim.org and mrc.org on the right — have hidden from the American public President Barack Obama’s Ukrainian coup in February 2014 that violently overthrew Ukraine’s democratically elected President and replaced him with a Ukrainian nazi (racist-fascist) rabidly eliminationist anti-Russian, police-state regime in Kiev, which, ever since America’s coup there, has been ethnically cleansing the Ukrainian Donbass region that had voted 90% for the man, Viktor Yanukovych, whom the Obama Administration overthrew. None of this is reported in the U.S. ‘news’ media — and America’s ‘media watchdog’ organizations hide the media's hiding of it, though these events could bring on a nuclear war with Russia, which is America’s real target in Ukraine, right next door to Russia.

No Deal on Iran's Nuclear Program - So Far

April 2nd, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

Reports of a deal reached over the weekend were way premature. As of Monday morning Lausanne time, key unresolved issues remain ahead of a March 31 deadline.

It could be extended days or weeks if all parties agree. Deadlines aren't written in stone. They're easily changed based on circumstances.

The latest as this is written comes from a senior Iranian negotiator, saying:

"No agreement has been achieved, and there are still issues which need to be resolved."

"Instead of launching a media hype, the concerned parties should quit their excessive demands and take the strategic decision if they want an agreement or continued pressure."
