MSM Ignore International and Constitutional Law

September 14th, 2014

by Stephen Lendman

A previous article discussed Obama's open-ended Middle East war. It flagrantly violates international and constitutional laws.

They're clear and unequivocal. The Constitution's Supremacy Clause (Article VI, Clause 2) states all US laws and treaties "shall be the supreme law of the land…"

Presidents and Congress have no authority to spurn them. Especially on issues of war and peace.

It doesn't matter. America's last legal war was WW II. Numerous lawless aggression ones followed.

International law is inviolable. No nation may intervene in the internal affairs of others.

None may attack another except in self-defense. None may do so without Security Council authorization. None exits. Expect none forthcoming.

Abbas Blocks Israeli War Crimes Investigation

September 14th, 2014

by Stephen Lendman

He's a longtime Israeli collaborator. He performs enforcer services. He conspires against his own people.

He's a Palestinian Judas. He belongs in prison, not high office. He's well rewarded. He's hugely corrupt.

He amassed an huge fortune. He did so the old-fashioned way. Betrayal pays well. Palestinian suffering continues.

Abbas shares blame with Israel. He collaborates with the enemy. He's done so for decades. A previous article said he knew about Operation Cast Lead in advance.

He supported it. He asked Israel to crush Hamas. What did he know and when about Operation Protective Edge?

Why didn't he forthrightly denounce it? Why didn't he immediately sign the Rome Statute?

Why didn't he demand Israeli accountability? Why didn't he insist Israeli war criminals be prosecuted in the International Criminal Court (ICC)?

Ukraine – Truce or Trojan Horse: Retreat, Re-Armament and Relaunch

September 13th, 2014

James Petras

Introduction

The NATO proxy war in the Ukraine started with the violent US-EU-sponsored overthrow of the elected government via a mob putsch in February 2014. This was well financed at $5 billion, according to President Obama’s Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, Victoria Nuland.

The result was a junta, composed of neo-liberal puppets, rightist nationalists and fascists, which immediately proceeded to purge the Ukrainian legislature of any politicians opposed to the coup and Kiev’s submission to the European Union and NATO. The NATO-sponsored client regime then moved swiftly to extend its control by centralizing power and overturning the official policy of bilingualism (Russian and Ukrainian) in the southeastern regions. It was preparing to break its long-standing agreement over the huge Russian naval base in Crimea and renege on its massive debts to Russia for gas and oil imports.

Washington Hawks Want Greater Military Spending

September 13th, 2014

by Stephen Lendman

No nation does more harm to more people worldwide than America. None for over a longer period of time.

None match its horrendous human rights record. None its barbarity. None its lawlessness. None more threatening to humanity.

The business of America is war. Permanent war is official US policy.

Hawks infest Washington. They're on both sides of the aisle. Most Democrats are as warrior-like as Republicans.

They deplore peace. They want greater than ever amounts for war-making.

America's defense budget far exceeds annually budgeted National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) amounts. Last December, Congress approved nearly $633 billion.

It authorized spending for the FY October 1, 2013 through September 30, 2014. It's the tip of the iceberg.

He threatens the entire region. He endangers world peace, security and stability. MSM scoundrels support what demands condemnation.

32 Years after the Sabra-Shatila Massacre

September 12th, 2014

Franklin Lamb

They are beginning to arrive at Shatila Palestinian camp in Beirut this weekend.

“They” being people of good will from around the world, many of whom annually visit Martyr’s Square in Shatila as well as some of Lebanon’s 11 other Palestinian Refugee Camps. It is the 32nd anniversary of the Sabra and Shatila massacre, and commemorative events are scheduled all next week.

The arrivals will find the camps overflowing even more so than usual, for this year they hold most of the approximately 90,000 Palestinian refugees who have been forced to flee the fighting in Syria. Just last month, 378 more Palestinians fled Yarmouk, Syria’s largest camp, due to clashes between forces loyal to President Bashar al-Assad and those opposing his rule. Reportedly, the latest exiles diverted themselves to Turkey since Lebanon; in flagrant violation of International humanitarian law now bars Palestinians escaping the violence in Syria.

The Big Lie in the ‘News’ ‘Reporting’ About Ukraine and Russia

September 12th, 2014

Eric Zuesse

Here it is, in purest form, via a typical 'news' ‘report’ from CNN:

"While questions about Russia's tactics remain, its strategy has become more clear: The Kremlinappears to have decided to prevent Ukraine turning West and leaving what Russia regards asits sphere of influence."

However, did the U.S., in the early 1960s, decide to accept Cuba’s having turned away from the U.S. sphere of influence that had existed under the prior, corrupt, Cuban leader, Fulgensio Batista, and Cuba’s then becoming instead a new Soviet satellite, under Fidel Castro? And, in particular, how did the U.S. feel about Cuba's new Soviet ally trying to insert Soviet missiles with nuclear warheads in Cuba, right next door to us?

Did we like that? Did we even let that happen (which would be like Ukraine’s joining NATO, and then allowing Ukraine to get U.S. missiles)?

How and Why Illegal Federal Government / NSA Does Not Fill Up FEMA Camps

September 12th, 2014

By Tracy Turner

How a journalist could “potentially” end up in the NSA’s “targeted individual” marked for NASA/NSA/Obama death-vacuum-shell-program, writing about:

Military Pollution

Palestinian Genocide Photos & Articles

Articles about news and journalistic corruption

Radioactive Mining, Milling and Pollution on Tribal Lands

Articles about corrupt politicians and their entitlement families

The phase 1 mental torture (you watch NSA/multinationals vacuuming-up human beings) crews were all foreign nationals; none of them were what you or I would call “an American”… African paramilitary types, Arabic paramilitary types, Israeli (read ex-Israeli military, not Jews you would see at Temple on Saturday) ex-military, South Americans from the CIA School of the America’s -all wielding buckeyball death shells and killing dozens, hundreds of victims rapidly…

Obama Declares Open-Ended MIddle East War

September 12th, 2014

by Stephen Lendman

He did so in flagrant violation of international law. It's not the first time. It won't be the last.

It's longstanding US policy. All US wars are lawless. They violate the Constitution's Supremacy Clause (Article VI, Clause 2).

It states all US laws and treaties "shall be the supreme law of the land…"

International law is clear and unequivocal. No nation may attack another except in self-defense.

None may do so without Security Council authorization. None exists. Expect none forthcoming.

UN Charter Article 2(7) states:

"Nothing contained in the present Charter shall authorize the United Nations to intervene in matters which are essentially within the domestic jurisdiction of any state or shall require the Members to submit such matters to settlement under the present Charter."

Under no circumstances may one nation, or combination thereof, intervene against another without Security Council authorization.

Amnesty International Fronts for Power

September 12th, 2014

by Stephen Lendman

It's an imperial tool. It fronts for power, wealth and privilege. It receives generous corporate foundation donations. According to Francis Boyle:

"Amnesty International is primarily motivated not by human rights but by publicity. Second comes money."

"Third comes getting more members. Fourth, internal turf battles. And then finally, human rights, genuine human rights concerns."

"To be sure, if you are dealing with a human rights situation in a country that is at odds with the United States or Britain, it gets an awful lot of attention, resources, man and woman power, publicity, you name it. They can throw whatever they want at that."

"But if it's dealing with violations of human rights by the United States, Britain, Israel, then it's like pulling teeth to get them to really do something on the situation."

"They might, very reluctantly and after an enormous amount of internal fightings and battles and pressures, you name it. But you know, it's not like the official enemies list."
