The Truth About The Ukrainian Crisis That Holds True For Any Crisis

September 25th, 2014

Roman Marshanski

I refuse to take sides in this conflict. I believe both sides are liars. When I say "both sides", I mean West and Russia. I refuse to include Ukraine in this equation. I will explain why.

Ukraine cannot sustain itself without external support. So whoever gets to support it gets to control it. Therefore, regardless of who wins in Ukraine, this country is not going to be a truly independent nation in the foreseeable future. It's policies will depend either on West or Russia for a long time to come.

You may have recoiled when I called both sides liars. I understand why. But I also understand why you should not. If you don't like my explanation, I would still respect your dislike though. Perhaps your dislike is a well-masked sign of approval.

Big Lies Launch Lawless Wars

September 25th, 2014

by Stephen Lendman

Obama's Iraq war III is lawless. It has no legal authority. It constitutes cold, calculated, premeditated naked aggression.

The same holds for his three-and-a-half year proxy war on Syria. It was planned long before March 2011 hostilities began. It's now elevated to direct US intervention.

On Tuesday, US warplanes bombed multiple Syrian targets. Precise ones aren't clear. Multiple civilian deaths followed. At least three children died. Civilians suffer most in all wars.

US and Israeli ones target them willfully. They're considered legitimate targets. They're murdered in cold blood.

Israel Part of US Anti-Syrian Coalition

September 25th, 2014

by Stephen Lendman

It's unannounced. It's no secret. Israel is heavily involved. It's been so all along. It wants Assad ousted.

It bombs Syrian targets at its discretion. It supplies weapons to Islamic State terrorists and other extremist Takfiri fighters.

It treats their wounded in Israeli hospitals. It supplies other support overtly and covertly.

On Tuesday, Israel confirmed it shot down a Syrian Sukhoi 24 fighter jet aircraft. It used a surface-to-air missile against it.

It said it "infiltrated into Israeli airspace." It's unclear if Israel's claim is true. Crew members ejected.

They landed safely in Syrian territory. Reports indicate aircraft remains fell into Mediterranean Sea waters.

Syria was bombing areas around Quneitra. It's near Israeli-controlled Golan.

Reactions to Obama's Naked Aggression Against Syria

September 25th, 2014

by Stephen Lendman

On Tuesday, Obama attacked another country lawlessly. Syria poses no threat to America.

Obama bombed multiple sites. He did so with no legal authority. He committed lawless aggression.

He's done it repeatedly throughout his tenure. It's the highest of high crimes against peace.

He violated international, constitutional and US statute laws. The 1996 US War Crimes Act calls them "grave breaches."

Obama's wars are Nuremberg-level crimes. They demand accountability. Expect none forthcoming.

His so-called coalition allies include a rogue's gallery of despotic regimes. He said he's "proud" to be allied with them.

Obama Launches Naked Aggression on Syria

September 24th, 2014

by Stephen Lendman

It's no surprise. His intentions were clear for weeks. Naked aggression is longstanding US policy.

In his September 10 address, he said Washington was prepared to "conduct a systematic campaign of airstrikes (against Islamic State terrorists) wherever they are."

"That means I will not hesitate to take action against ISIL in Syria as well as Iraq."

Last week, Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel said US Central Command has a plan to take "targeted actions against ISIS safe havens in Syria."

Dueling Ideologies: Lavrov v. Rasmussen

September 24th, 2014

by Stephen Lendman

They're polar opposites. They represent good v. evil. They do so at the most perilous time in world history. When global war is possible.

Rasmussen is a convenient US stooge. He heads NATO's killing machine.

He steps down end of September. He won't be missed. He violates inviolable national sovereignty rights. He spurns rule of law principles.

On September 15, Wall Street Journal editors featured his shameless op-ed. More on this below.

Headlines in the World’s Only Great Newspaper: Starting This Past Weekend, Till Today

September 24th, 2014

Eric Zuesse

Where can one go in order to find honestly reported news in the English language? I have long searched to find the answer to that question; and here is what I have discovered.

Newspapers and other 'news' media in the U.S. and throughout the world are so unreliable that I have long been searching in vain at www.onlinenewspapers.com/ to see even just one English-language newspaper about national and international affairs that is honest -- meaning, to me, reliable in truthfulness, and reporting all events that seem to me to be historically important, in order for anyone to be able to understand where the world is actually trending, and how it’s trending the way it is.

Then, I finally discovered one such newspaper, except that it's not in the English language; it's in German, but it can be read in English via the automatic translation feature in google chrome. So, I now introduce it to you here below, for your consideration to become your major news source, as it now will be mine.

China is exporting torture

September 23rd, 2014

Mary Shaw

Research by Amnesty International (AI) and the Omega Research Foundation has uncovered a "flourishing trade" in the "export of tools of torture by Chinese companies" which is fueling human rights violations worldwide.

A new report, titled China's Trade in Tools of Torture and Repression, alleges that more than 130 Chinese companies are currently involved in the "production and trade of potentially dangerous law enforcement equipment."

According to AI, "Some of the devices openly marketed by these companies - including electric shock stun batons, metal spiked batons, and weighted leg cuffs - are intrinsically cruel and inhumane and therefore should immediately be banned. Other equipment - that can have legitimate use in policing - such as tear gas and plastic projectiles or riot control vehicles - is being exported from China even when there is a substantial risk of serious human rights violations by the receiving law enforcement agencies."

The Hiroshima Myth and the Glorification of American Militarism

September 23rd, 2014

Gary G. Kohls, MD

August 6, 2014, was the 69th anniversary of the bombing of Hiroshima, the whole truth of which has been heavily censored and mythologized ever since war-weary Americans celebrated V-J Day on August 15.

In the pitiful history lessons that were taught by my uninspired or bored history teachers (which seemed to be mainly ex-jocks whose real interest was coaching) came from patriotic and highly censored books where everything the British and US military ever did in the history of warfare was honorable and self-sacrificing and everything their opponents did was barbaric. Everybody in my graduating class of 26 swallowed the post-war propaganda in our history books. It was from these books that we learned about the “glorious” end of the war against Japan.

Telling It Like Is Is On Israel

September 23rd, 2014

by Stephen Lendman

It's high time growing numbers of critics speak out forthrightly. It's essential whatever the risks.

Israeli high crimes against peace are too egregious to ignore. It's vital to denounce them publicly.

It's essential to maintain a steady drumbeat of truth. It's crucial to enlist growing numbers to demand accountability.

Israel is a rogue terror state. It's been so from inception. It's entire history is blood-drenched.

It's so-called democracy is pure fantasy. Fascist hardliners run things. They govern lawlessly.

Netanyahu and key officials around him are world-class thugs. They have no legitimacy whatever.

They belong in prison, not high office. Why Israelis don't demand it, they'll have to explain.
