Bee Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD) was first noted by a Pennsylvania beekeeper named Dave Hackenberg in November 2006. Hackenberg, who owned a beekeeping business in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, reported a sudden and significant loss of bees in his colonies, sparking concern among experts about the emergence of CCD. Three-fourths of the world's flowering plants and about 35 percent of the world's food crops depend on animal pollinators to reproduce. That's one out of every three bites of food you eat. More than 3,500 species of native bees help increase crop yields.
Neonicotinoids are a class of neuro-active insecticides chemically like nicotine. They act on the central nervous system of insects, leading to paralysis and death. These pesticides are widely used in agriculture to protect crops from pests, as they are effective against a broad range of insects.
However, neonicotinoids have been implicated in the decline of bee populations worldwide. Bees are essential pollinators for many crops, including fruits, vegetables, and nuts. When bees encounter neonicotinoids through contaminated pollen and nectar, it can harm their health and behavior.

Mediterranean Diet
The Mediterranean diet is based on the traditional eating habits of people living near the Mediterranean Sea, particularly those from Greece, Italy, and Spain. This dietary pattern emphasizes consuming fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, nuts, and seeds while including moderate amounts of fish, poultry, dairy, and eggs. It limits the intake of red meat, processed foods, and added sugars. The Mediterranean diet also encourages the use of healthy fats, such as olive oil, as the primary source of fat in the diet. Cook with Olive Oil and eat Greek Yogurt, both at least twice a week.
‘Tolerance’ is the new totalitarianism
[June 16, 2017] It’s been fun learning over the past week or so that I am an extremist. I hadn’t previously considered myself to be one, but it’s now been pointed out so many times over the past few days, by certain young left-leaning folks, that I can no longer be in any doubt. In fact, I assume that I, along with other like-minded people, must now just wait for the powers-that-be to start issuing little badges with the letter “E”, to warn others that there are dangerous people with unwholesome views in their midst.
Until recently, I’d sort of thought of extremists as being those bearded head-chopper chaps with their black flags, or radical anarchist types intent on bringing down the State. Compared to them, I’m a fantastically dull extremist. Happily married for 17 years; raising six fairly contented children; held down jobs since leaving university 20-odd years ago; never been in trouble with the law; taxes paid into the Treasury’s redistribution scheme; an elder in a local Anglican church; no links to any terrorist organizations; good relations with neighbors; and by and large, pretty relaxed and content with my lot.
But according to Napoleon’s puppies (I’ll explain that in a moment), none of this counts for diddly squat, and I am indeed to be regarded on a par with chaps heading out for an extended holiday in one of those “training camps” in David Cameron’s New Libya.
US Campus Protests: Hundreds Arrested amid Crackdown on Pro-Palestine Students

Dozens of protesters were arrested on Wednesday while participating in pro-Palestine demonstrations across US college campuses.
At least 34 protesters, including a member of the media from a local news station, were arrested during protests at the University of Texas in Austin, and at least 50 more were detained by police at the University of Southern California [USC].
The arrests come amid a wave of demonstrations at campuses across the US, which began last week after students at New York’s Columbia University set up encampments calling for the university to divest from weapons manufacturers with ties to “Israel”.
The crackdown led to mass suspensions and arrests of hundreds of students in New York and other cities.
House speaker, Mike Johnson, jumped into the fray on Wednesday with a visit to Columbia’s campus, where he faced jeers from the pro-Palestinian protesters and called for the resignation of the university’s president.
Flanked by several Republican members of Congress, Johnson denounced the demonstrations as “mob rule” and condemned what he called a “virus of antisemitism” at colleges nationwide.
The Russian 2009 “Fourteen Points” for the European Security: Why the Proposal Was Rejected?

In 2009, Russian President Medvedev (President from May 7th, 2008 to May 7th, 2012) called for a new European security policy known as “Fourteen Points” as a new security treaty to be accepted to maintain European security as the ability of states and societies to maintain their independent identity and functional integrity (this Russian draft European security treaty was originally posted on the President’s website on November 29th, 2009). This treaty proposal was passed to the leaders of the Euro-Atlantic States and the executive heads of the relevant international organizations such as NATO, EU, the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), and the Organization of Security Cooperation in Europe (OSCE). In this proposal, Russia stressed that it is open to any democratic proposal concerning continental security and is counting on a positive response from Russia’s (Western) partners.
However, not so surprisingly, D. Medvedev’s call for a new European security framework (based on mutual respect and equal rights) became interpreted particularly in the USA in the fashion of the Cold War 1.0, in fact, as a plot to pry Europe from its strategic partner (USA). Nevertheless, this program in the form of a proposal was the most significant initiative in IR by Russia since the dismissal of the USSR in 1991. From the present perspective, this proposal could save Ukrainian territorial integrity, but it was rejected primarily due to Washington’s Russo phobic attitude.

A 16-year-old North Carolina high school student was suspended for saying “illegal alien” while discussing word meanings in English class — possibly ruining his chances of landing a college sports scholarship. His teacher had assigned the students to use the word “alien” in a sentence and Christian McGhee asked: “Like space aliens or illegal aliens without green cards?”
The democrats have taken a page from George Orwell's book 1984. In Orwell's prophetic story the global elite wanted to control what people thought. They did this by making common terms in the human vocabulary illegal and so over time these expressions were forgotten. This robbed humanity of the ability to formulate certain ideas and thus the global elite were able to control how people thought and mold society into whatever they wanted it to be.

Declassified British files highlight a little-known aspect of the joint MI6/CIA coup against Iran’s democratically elected government in August 1953 – UK covert action in support of leading radical Shia Islamists, the predecessors of Ayatollah Khomeini.
● British officials wanted “a non-communist coup d'état” in Iran to install a “dictator” who would promote UK oil interests
● UK and US governments backed Islamist forces to stir up unrest and even considered installing Ayatollah Kashani as a client leader following a coup
In many accounts the CIA is regarded as the prime mover behind the 1953 coup in Iran, yet Britain was the initial instigator and provided considerable resources to the plot, which UK planners named ‘Operation Boot’.
In the early 1950s, the Anglo–Iranian Oil Company (AIOC), or BP as it is now known, was run from London and owned jointly by the British government and private citizens. It controlled Iran’s main source of income, oil, and by 1951 had become, according to one British official, “in effect an imperium in imperio [an empire within an empire] in Persia”. Iranian nationalists objected to the fact that the AIOC’s revenues from oil were greater than the Iranian government’s. Britain’s ambassador in Tehran, Sir Francis Shepherd, had a typically colonialist take on the situation. The declassified files show his writing:
By the Dawn’s Early Light: On the Fall of the Francis Scott Key Bridge

The Baltimore bridge that collapsed on March 26th was named for Francis Scott Key, who wrote the lyrics to the American national anthem “The Star-Spangled Banner” in 1814. His inspiration was the British bombardment of Fort McHenry in the critical port of Baltimore during the War of 1812. The British had just burned the U.S. Capitol and the White House and had set their sights on the Baltimore port, with the guns from hundreds of British ships trained on shelling the American flag. If the flag were taken down, they would know the Americans had surrendered, and the British agreed the shelling would stop. But in the dawn’s early light, the flag still waved, held up by patriots who replaced soldiers who had fallen before them. Francis Scott Key observed all this from a British ship on which he had been allowed on board to negotiate a prisoner release. It is a quite moving story, dramatized here.
What the dawn’s early light brought on March 26, 2024, by contrast, were shocking news videos of the Francis Scott Key Bridge collapsing when the Singapore-owned cargo ship Dali slammed into it. It was “like something out of an action movie,” said Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott. Several commentators are calling it a “black swan” event that will have catastrophic effects on global supply chains. Interestingly, the War of 1812 was also about disruptions to U.S. trade with foreign nations, in that case by blockade by the British navy. But more on that, and on how our forebears turned dependence on foreign manufacturers into economic independence, after a look at what went amiss with the Dali and the bridge.
