Self-defense is inviolable. It's a fundamental right. International law affirms it. On May 29, State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki said Washington supports Israel's right to defend itself.
Israeli-style defense is offense. It hasn't been attacked in 40 years. It faces no regional threats now except ones it invents. It prioritizes violence, conflict and instability.
Syria is Washington's war. Israel's very much involved. It's arming US-enlisted death squads. It bombed Syrian targets. It did so lawlessly. It initiated other provocations. It threatens more attacks now.

Many billions of Euros are being extracted from Europe’s vassal-debtor nations – Spain, Greece, Portugal and Ireland –and transferred to the creditor banks, financial speculators and swindlers located in the City of London, Wall Street, Geneva and Frankfort. Under what has been termed ‘austerity’ programs vast tributary payments are amassed by ruling Conservative and Social Democratic regimes via unprecedented savage budget cuts in salaries, public investment, social programs and employment. The result has been a catastrophic growth in unemployment, under-employment and casual labor reaching over 50% among young workers under 25 and between 15% and 32% of the total labor force. Wages, salaries and pensions have been slashed between 25% and 40%. The age of retirement has been postponed from 3 to 5 years. Labor contracts (dubbed ‘reforms’) concentrate power exclusively in the hands of the bosses and labor contractors who now impose work conditions reminiscent of the early 19th century.

Its four-day meeting occurs annually. It's a rite of spring. British political economist Will Hutton calls the group the "high priests of globalization." Powerful movers and shakers have their own agenda. They discuss key issues. They do it year round. Once annually they meet face-to-face. They plot strategy to exploit the world's riches. They want them for themselves. They try to keep meeting dates, locations, and issues to be discussed in secret.
Word gets out. It's official. Britain's five-star Grove Hotel is this year's venue. It's a Hertfordshire, England hotel resort. It calls itself "London's cosmopolitan country estate."

A Gallup Poll on May 29th was strikingly titled “U.S. Support for Euthanasia Hinges on How It’s Described,” and it contains unambiguous new evidence that Republicans are more manipulable than are Democrats – at least when the question concerns the important issue of whether or not a terminal patient’s request for assistance to die should be carried out by the person’s doctor. It reported that, “A May 2-7 Gallup survey finds 70% of Americans in favor of allowing doctors to hasten a terminally ill patient’s death when the matter is described as allowing doctors to ‘end the patient’s life by some painless means.’ At the same time, far fewer – 51% – support it when the process is described as doctors helping a patient ‘commit suicide.’” The precise question in the latter instance was “When a person has a disease that cannot be cured and is living in severe pain, do you think doctors should or should not be allowed by law to assist the patient to commit suicide if the patient requests it?”

Obama's a reliable corporate tool. He serves powerful monied interests. He spurns populist ones. He's done so throughout his tenure. He's unfit to serve.
Since taking office, he targeted America's most disadvantaged. He wants deeper Medicare and Medicaid cuts than already instituted on his watch. He wants Social Security benefits reduced.
He’s already cut:
● home heating help for needy families;
● higher education Pell Grants;
● Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) benefits;

Israel gives chutzpah new meaning. War on humanity defines its agenda. It's partnered with Washington's war on Syria.
It's heading perhaps toward greater intervention. It warned Russia about supplying Syria with sophisticated defensive anti-aircraft missiles. It said Israel will react in response. More on that below.
A previous article discussed Russian S-300 launch systems and other defensive missile sales to Syria. Vladimir Putin said existing contracts will be honored.
Netanyahu tried to dissuade him. They met face-to-face. Perhaps Israel's early May aggression convinced him they're urgently needed.

UK foreign Secretary William Hague continues to surpass himself. You’ll remember how he fell for the phony claptrap about WMD and voted “very strongly” for the Iraq war, thus advertising his lack of diligence and poor judgement. After three years in power he still has British troops dying in Afghanistan to massage the egos of American and British warmongers. He’s also made it his business to protect Israeli war crimes suspects - and the rest of the world’s most odious scum - from arrest.
He was at the forefront of military intervention in Libya, which has had messy, horrific and uncontrollable consequences.

The protests against the Monsanto Protection Act were not covered by the corporately run news media in the United States. This treacherous act itself has not been discussed by the majority of people and the information about what it really means to us is being hidden by those charged to provide this information.
The very fact that the corporate media has tried to minimize the coverage of the protests, and the fact that they hid the role of Congress in protecting a company that has the potential to damage our lives is something that is actually criminal. The fact that most Americans still don’t know about the potential effects of GMO seeds to the American people cannot be defended.

It is time for the economy to work for the people, not the elites; it is time for economic democracy.
As the school year ends, college students are coming home to a paucity of summer jobs and young adults are graduating into an economy with 27% underemployment and unemployment for them.This generation has inherited a failed economy. Not only do they graduate to lousy job prospects, but they also graduate with record high debts .

On May 27, the so-called one-year EU arms embargo on Syria's opposition ended. Officially it does so on June 1. EU nations agreed to end what never existed.
Since Washington's war on Syria began in early 2011, arms flowed freely. Western-enlisted death squads get them. At issue is replacing Assad with a subservient pro-Western puppet.
Syria's being ravaged in the process. Washington, key NATO partners, Israel and rogue Arab state allies bear full responsibility.
War rages ahead of Geneva II. Planned peace talks are pretense. Syrians genuinely want it. So does Russia going all out to achieve it. Other nations urge peace.
