Legitimizing Illegal Spying

September 9th, 2012

by Stephen Lendman

On August 15, federal district court Judge Cormac Carney dismissed a class action ACLU of Southern California/Council on Islamic American Relations (CAIR) lawsuit.

Fazaga v. FBI charges lawless FBI surveillance. More on what's involved below. Southern California Muslims were targeted for praying to the wrong God.

In his ruling, Judge Carney didn't say illegal surveillance hadn't occurred. Nor did he agree that First Amendment provisions, illegal searches, privacy rights, and other constitutional principles weren't violated.

Instead, he ruled for Washington's "state secrets" privilege. It's anti-democratic legal mumbo jumbo. The Justice Department and administration routinely invoke it to conceal government crimes and other abuses from scrutiny. Courts routinely go along.

Canada: Selling Its Soul to America

September 9th, 2012

by Stephen Lendman

Canada is more colony than sovereign state. Canadians perhaps wonder when it'll grow up, act like an adult, and regain its rightful independence.

They're also worried about a country junior partnering with imperial America, Israel, and other rogue NATO allies.

A previous article said the following:

On September 7, Foreign Minister John Baird said Canada closed its Tehran embassy. It expelled Iranian diplomats in Ottawa. They have five days to leave. He claimed a nonexistent Iranian threat. He took a page from AIPAC's playbook. He bogusly called Tehran the gravest threat to global security.

America's Dismal August Jobs Report

September 9th, 2012

by Stephen Lendman

Headlines obscured its ugliness. The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported a dismal 96,000 jobs created. Whisper numbers suggested around 200,000. June and July totals were revised down 41,000. They're usually momentum drivers for future data releases.

U-3 unemployment dropped from 8.3% to 8.1%. It's because 368,000 workers hadn't found jobs after over a year of looking. BLS calls them non-persons. They don't exist.

At the same time, it added a fictitious 87,000 jobs based on so-called birth/death calculations. They turn reality on its head.

The labor force participation rate fell from 63.7% to 63.5% month over month. Doing so hit a 30 year low.

Irrational Draghi Exuberance

September 9th, 2012

by Stephen Lendman

Thursday was Draghi day. He explained what ECB watchers knew. At his Frankfort press conference, he said Governing Council members agreed to unlimited bond buying. It's called Outright Monetary Transactions (OMT).

Bundesbank President Jens Weidmann alone dissented. He called Draghi's plan "tantamount to financing governments by printing banknotes." Doing so creates more problems than solutions.

In late August, Weidmann said bond purchases were "too close to state financial via the money press for me. The central bank cannot fundamentally solve the problems this way. It runs the risk of creating new problems."

Bogus Iranian Nuclear Threat

September 8th, 2012

by Stephen Lendman

Red lines, timelines, deadlines, sanctions, sabotage, subversion, cyber attacks, assassinations, saber rattling, falsified IAEA hype, ad nauseam warmongering, Netanyahu/Barak bluster, spurious accusations, manipulated to fail P5+1 talks, and inflammatory headlines up the stakes for war.

When America and Israel plan them, they're coming. Pretexts are easy to invent. False flags precipitate them. Expect Washington to use them against Syria and Iran. War weary Americans are manipulated for more of what they want ended.

Are We Entering A New Era of Human Consciousness -- Or Will We Remain In The Same Negative Paradigm? The Choice is Ours

September 8th, 2012

By Vincent L. Guarisco

I guess life really is a vast ocean filled to the brim with challenges, lessons and "opportunity" that each of us -- with our trusty moral and ethical compass in hand -- are forever child navigators trying to find safe passage through the many reefs laid before us.

I don't mean to stand on a soapbox or anything like that, and I do realize I am not "perfect" by any sense of the word -- for sure, I do make my share of mistakes (we all do) -- but, I can honestly say with full confidence, I always try to give it my best and learn from my experiences and move forward in a positive direction that not only enlightens myself, but inspires those around me. As a writer, an activist and a humanitarian at heart who's been widely published in the public domain, I fully understand the importance of being completely honest in what I share with others. Thus, I will always hold true to my beliefs. This includes reporting the unbridled truth no matter road that takes us on. My mother was such a rare gem. She used to tell me she had a special love for me because she knew in her heart that I am a loving and giving person. To me, this is the greatest compliment one can ever receive.

Democrats Throw Palestinians Under the Bus

September 8th, 2012

by Stephen Lendman

On Wednesday evening, Democrat convention delegates took three voice votes calling Jerusalem Israel's capital. Each time, nays sounded louder than yeas.

Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa chaired the convention. Despite boos and no votes more audible than yes ones, he declared rewriting platform language policy.

Doing so violates international law and justice. Obama caved to AIPAC and other Israeli Lobby organizations. Pandering to Lobby pressure and Israeli lawlessness is policy. Palestinians don't matter so ignore them. Spurning international law is OK.

Sure Obama caved again on Palestine but will he benefit?

September 8th, 2012

Franklin Lamb
Beirut

As a former law professor President Obama knows something about international law and US constitutional law which he taught at the University of Chicago. But he besmirched his academic bona fides, violated Democratic Party rules and hurt his campaign on 12/5/12 by ordering the Democratic Party to summarily change earlier a twice debated and unanimously adopted plank of the Democratic Platform on the subject of the status of Jerusalem.

The reason this observer even took the time to read the 26,56l word, 37 page 2012 Democratic Party Platform which guides every Democratic candidate for both Houses of Congress and the party’s Presidential candidate, and to a lesser degree, thousands of Democratic Party candidates across the USA is, well, nostalgia.

The 9/11 No-plane Question of Questions

September 7th, 2012

By Robert Singer

Compare the two pictures below. The picture on the left is Flight 175 that doesn’t decelerate or produce any plane wreckage as it disappears in a puff of smoke inside the South Tower. The picture on the right, taken by a news helicopter, shows a Boeing 767 coming out the opposite side of the impact zone of the North Tower.

Whether or not you believe that planes were used on 9/11, you should be asking two questions:

  1. Why would anyone bother to fake crashing planes into the WTC towers, requiring them to fake all the crash videos as well when it would be much easier for them to crash real planes into the Towers using the military’s Global Hawk remote control technology?” [1]
  2. Why would anyone make the video of Flight 175 available to CNN or why would the engineers in charge of the computer generated imagery (CGI) video fakery fail to see the nose-out blunder on the North Tower?

Before I answer the questions we need to consider the Theory of Controlled Demolition.

There is absolutely no proof, evidence, hypothesis or theory that will prove that a controlled demolition using thermite, Super-Thermite” or nano-thermite, was responsible for the collapse of the Twin Towers on 9/11. [8]

Even a child can see the picture on the left and in the center have nothing in common with the picture on the right (controlled demolition).

Hiroshima North Tower Controlled Demolition of a Hotel

Hiroshima and the North Tower represent a highly unconventional destructive release of energy, with temperatures much hotter than the sun. And BTW, both Hiroshima and the North Tower are EXPLOSIONS, controlled demolition is Implosion.

Steven Jones, who is the “expert” for the 9/11 Truth movement, is a professor of physics with no expertise whatsoever in controlled demolitions. Dr. Jones was asked to leave the university when he embarrassed the physics department at Brigham Young by writing that demolitions of WTC 1, 2 and 7 are the same; however,

WTC 7 was a bottom-up a gravity-assisted collapse with a small debris field, while WTC 1 and 2 were primarily top-down, virtually unassisted by gravity and showered debris in a wide radius as their frames essentially "peeled" outward. FEMA: WTC Study, Ch. 5 (05/02)

Jones’ research, never peer reviewed, does not prove the building collapsed from controlled demolition. Click here and read footnote 9, a thorough debunking of any theory of controlled demolition of the Twin Towers on 9/11.

The Answer to the 9/11 No-plane Question of Questions

The use of Computer-Generated Video Graphics (CGI No-plane fakery) ensured that no one would discover whatreallyhappened on 9/11, let me explain.

Iran’s Strategic Diplomatic Victory over the Washington-Israeli Axis: Its Larger Political Consequences

September 7th, 2012

By James Petras

Introduction

Iran chaired, hosted and led the recently rejuvenated Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) meeting in Teheran, attended by delegates from 120 countries, including 31 heads of state and 29 foreign secretaries of state. Even the United Nations General Secretary Ban Ki-Moon, notorious mouthpiece of Washington, felt obligated to address, a forum attended by two-thirds of the member countries of the UN, despite State Department and Israeli objections. Any objective evaluation of the meeting, its venue, the attendance, resolutions and political impact leads to one paramount conclusion: the NAM meeting was a strategic diplomatic victory for Iran and a major defeat for the US, Israel and the European Union. The entire US-Israeli-EU diplomatic and propaganda effort to isolate and stigmatize Iran, especially over the past decade, was shredded.
